The National Board of Examiners, National Writing Improvement Certificate, June 21, 1941 to Robert Nicholson.  States is awarded for conscientious effort toward writing improvement.  CONDITION ISSUE:  The page measures about 10 7/8″ across x 8 1/2″ high, has been FOLDED MANY TIMES, many creases, wrinkles.  This was inside an envelope with return address The Delaware National Bank, 124 Main Street, Delhi, New York 13753.  The envelope is rough condition, has tears, bends, etc.   I decided to keep the two items together as that is how I came across them.  The envelope of course is more recent date with a zip code.
I did an internet search and found an obituary for ROBERT P. NICHOLSON, who lived 1928 to 2017, and for 36 years worked at the Delaware National Bank.  He would have been a young boy at the time he received the certificate.  I obtained this item in an auction lot at an auction held in Delhi, New York several years ago.  Apparently, he kept the certificate all those years and placed it in an envelope from the bank at which he worked.
